About

Greycottage Terriers is located on Long Meadow Pond in Litchfield County, Connecticut. We have been involved with the Parson/Jack Russell Terrier since the mid 1980s. We got our first Parson from Starkweather Kennels in Winchester Center, CT. ARBA Ch. Starkweather Cameron, GC was our faithful companion for almost 18 years. In 2009 we added our first Lakeland Terrier to our home.  Skye comes from Larkspur Lakelands and Acadia Terriers.

Our terriers have won awards and honors in several countries (America, Canada, Mexico and the United Kingdom) and we are very proud of each and every one of our dogs.  One of our first dogs, Mex/Int/ARBA Ch. Starkweather Solo,JE was the top Parson Russell Terrier and Number Two Terrier overall on the 1998 ARBA Show Circuit.  She was also RBIB at the 1997 FCI World Dog Show and we think the first US bred and owned Parson to win a Mexican Championship.  We were also pleased to be the American Owners of Eng/Am. Ch. Mindlen Muddler Minnow, JW, JE, the breeds first AKC and UK champion.  Our retired special, Am/Cn. Champion Muhlross Ben Eildon, GC,SE (Ben)  finished 2007 and 2008 as the number 5 Parson in Canada and as one of the few Parsons to get a Group 1 placement at a Canadian Kennel Club show, which he has done twice (once in 2007 and in 2008.) He is still the only American owned Parson to have this distinction.

We are also the co-breeders of Multi Ch. Larkspur Acadia Save Me A Spot who was ranked as the number 1 Lakeland in the US for 3 years and the top Lakeland in the UK.

We believe in quality and not quantity in our breeding program and breed on or two very carefully planned litters a year, with puppies available to permanent caring homes by reservation. We occasionally have young adults and retired show dogs for sale as well.  See our “what’s available” page for more information.  With each breeding we hope to have all winners, and to us, winners are not just in the show ring, but also those dogs that make a healthy, happy, attractive and life long companion to a loving family.

Our terriers compete  in the conformation ring, and in the field, earthdog den, agility ring and as therapy dogs.  We are proud of all the accomplishments of all our terriers and their offspring.

Maria M. Sacco, owner of Greycottage Terriers is an AKC Delegate (first Delegate to the AKC for the PRTAA, current Delegate for the USLTC) current  AKC Earthdog judge and has judged Parsons in the US, Canada and England.
